Introduction of the Assembly

“By no means shall you attain to righteousness until you spend (benevolently) out of what you love’’

The permanent life of human societies depends on the participation of individuals considering meeting each other's needs and public solidarity and responsibility to preserve common values. Also, the need for health and education is always considered as one of the most important and basic needs for human beings; however, due to the extensiveness of these two needs, it is impossible to meet them without the active participation of society.

Traditionally, the participations of benefactors (individually or in the form of organized public institutions) in the field of treatment have been existed since many years ago and the valuable heritage of these participations in the form of hospitals, clinics, and permanent medical institutions are still illuminating humans’ point of view in all parts of the world and our beloved country, Iran.

Additionally, the changing pattern of diseases and also the prevalence of non-communicable diseases are largely due to changes regarding behaviors and lifestyles in industrial societies, including increased consumption of unhealthy foods, sedentary lifestyles, and the spread of environmental pollution; therefore, the health needs of all communities have been changed significantly and the participation of society and civil organizations is required in this regard.

On the other hand, the treatment of non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and chronic lung disease) is far more complex and difficult than communicable diseases, and if the disease progresses, its treatment requires staggering costs, which of course does not necessarily lead to success and complete recuperating of the patient. Therefore, serious investment to prevent the occurrence of non-communicable diseases and to the eliminate the underlying causes of these diseases will lead to the elimination of the need for multiplier costs in the future and will also prevent disabilities caused by these diseases. Moreover, it will create a fresh and long life with dignity and efficiency for the members of the society.

Accordingly, by the grace of God and with the collaborative efforts of benefactors (Physicians, health experts, representatives of health charities, and experienced and active benefactors in health care issues), the Charitable Assembly of Health and Hygiene, Imam Hadi, was formed in Isfahan in 2007, considering the idea of “prevention is better than treatment’’ and the slogan of “cultivating one seed of prevention leads to harvesting ahundred fruits of health”. It is worth mentioning that since 2010, Charitable Associations of Health and Hygiene have been formed in 23 cities of this province, which were the source of valuable services.
